Stay connected

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I am very excited to begin this new school year with you and your student.  I am married with two young girls, Autumn and Hannah.  When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, and being involved in my church. I have a total of 10 years of experience teaching students with disabilities.  During this time I have taught students of most all ages and have enjoyed all of the joy and challenges it has brought.

Our goal and vision for this year is to grow and be our best.

We will achieve this through: communication, relationshipsunderstanding, and fun.

Communication:  I have learned over the years that we all have a preferred way to communicate, so I like to  provide options. It is also important that I find the best way to communicate with your student and learn how they will communicate best with me.

  • Remind: text @tishak1 to the number 81010.  Remind is an app that I will use to send messages by text.  There is also an option to chat when I initiate the conversation.

  • PhoneEmail me for my cell phone number. You can call or text me.  I will always return your call if I cannot answer, and will text back as soon as I can.

  • Class folder: This will be sent home everyday with your student

Relationship:  Relationship is very important to me, both with the student and with their parent/guardian.  I would like us to develop this relationship with:

  • Your involvement in class activities

  • My consistency with students

  • Open communication

Understanding At some point this year, there may be some difficult moments, either with the students or with each other. An understanding, ear, heart, and mouth will be important to get through these times.

Fun:  I want us all to be engaged in the students learning this year.  We will all have a lot of fun this year together!

We will all grow and be our best as we commit to communicate, build relationships, understand, and have fun with each other.

Thank you
